Introducing "Portal," our in house development kit that represents an amalgamation of meticulous craftsmanship and cutting edge technology. Seamlessly fitting within a square meter, Portal is a window to endless possibilities, designed to serve not only e-sports enthusiasts but also developers, innovators, and dreamers.
Pneumatically, Portal utilizes hybrid 50mm pistons. An integrated BLDC-based compressor ensures a self-contained system, eradicating the need for external pressure supply, promising a trouble free experience in a compact form.
At the core of Portal lies our commitment to blending cost-effectiveness with superior performance. This is strikingly embodied in our custom-modified hoverboard-format motors. These motors are a marvel, not only for their incredible torque-to-price ratio but also for their adaptability to our ambitious design.
Our unique customization includes larger magnets and special coiling, transforming these motors into potent 21-bit servo motors. Coupled with the strategic upgrade to a substantial 35mm axle from the typical 16mm, these motors promise enhanced durability and eliminate fatigue failure, extending the life of Portal without compromising on performance or cost.
The result? A powerhouse of a system that is as affordable as it is robust, keeping in line with the ethos of Portal - pioneering performance that doesn't break the bank.
Every aspect of Portal’s design has been thought through to ease the transition from concept to reality. The table, simplified from a caged platform to a more versatile flat top, allows for easy integration with your existing static rig setup.
Safety and ease of servicing are cornerstones of Portal's design. PU ground isolators are integrated into the system to minimize shock, while the lower aluminium frame enhances ground support and houses the complete removable power/pneumatics block, ensuring easy serviceability. Portal runs entirely on DC power, with the PSU and an external E-STOP housed in their own box for additional safety.
Moving on to our electronics hardware, Portal is currently using RJ45 connectors to facilitate longer umbilical cords in the in-house development units. However, for the commercial dev unit, we will transition to dedicated FPC cables, with a centralized processing unit and wireless communication capabilities for monitoring and configuration.
On the frontier of technological progress, we've made an astounding breakthrough with the innovative application of real-time forward kinematics to the Portal system.
